Learn More About Personalized Derby Covers
This was an interesting project. The client liked my Coventry Cross design from my catalog, but wanted to make a few changes. He didn’t want the border or the thorns, and wanted it finished in a very “subdued” way.
I gave it a very deep patina, then gently scrubbed away with a Scotchbrite pad on the cross itself. The goal was to just knock off enough of the patina to start letting the bronze show through, but not so much as to make it bright. Then I gave it a matte clearcoat finish.
