Learn More About Personalized Derby Covers
Had a client contact me about putting a Multiple Launch Rocket System vehicle on a custom derby cover. I looked at the image he supplied, and knew the amount of time it would take me to sculpt all that detail by hand would be extreme. So much that it would drive the price of the piece completely out of reach.
I looked around and was able to find a high-quality 3D model of the rocket launcher for sale at a reasonable price. Turns out there are lots of pre-made models for military vehicles.
I then used the bas relief capabilities of ZBrush to convert from 3D to the model as shown in the final piece. It was so easy, it felt like I was cheating!
I am totally delighted with how this came out. The details are amazing!
